Beijing becoming a “global hub of high-tech innovation”

Today, a headline highlighted by a bold red box on the front page of the Beijing Daily reads, “Our city is gradually becoming a global hub of technology innovation.”

The article says that in the past five years, Beijing has successfully met its innovation targets summarized by the slogan, “six doubles.” A key statistic highlighted is that there are now 661.6 billion tech industry contracts in the city. Read more

Teen digital habits in Beijing and Palo Alto

In August and September 2011, Danwei worked with the Stanford Program on Regions of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SPRIE) on a survey of the digital and media habits of high school students born in 1993 and 1994.
